A center of excellence for health equity.
Sustainable Health Security Initiative is a Ugandan nonprofit and research organisation working with under-served communities to advance health, dignity and long-term resilience.
Who we are
SHSI is a nonprofit and research organisation based in Kampala, Uganda. We work at the intersection of community health, indigenous knowledge and climate-health adaptation to advance equity for populations who have historically been left behind by mainstream health systems.
Our teams partner with communities, universities, ministries and international research institutes to design, test and scale solutions that are grounded in local realities and backed by rigorous evidence.
A healthy, resilient population enjoying their right to health, bodily autonomy, well-being, and the economic independence it brings.
A center of excellence advancing health equity for under-served communities. We use inclusive, community-driven approaches grounded in research and climate-health adaptation to drive sustainable, systemic change in health outcomes.
